I. Set Up for Succes

Customization
Customize your Plug-in-Email™ service so that it matches your site exactly. By using your site's logo, font, colors, and theme, your email service will look like you built it! You can customize your service anytime in the Control Center.

Use Additional Everyone.net Plug-in Services
Provide more value to your users by adding other Plug-in services to your site, including search, bulletin boards, and chat. Your users will appreciate that you have the top Internet applications on your site.

Plus, when you add other Plug-in services, you can run cross-promotional banners that direct people to your free email service. For example, each time someone enters a bulletin board to read or post a comment, a banner promoting free email @YourDomain.com can be displayed.

Promotional Signature
Plug-in-Email puts you in charge of the standard signature that is appended to each outgoing message. Take advantage of this free promotional space to let potential users know about your site and email service!

We recommend using two lines (no more than 40 characters in length). Center your URL on the second line to give potential users a quick way to connect to your site.

II. Promotional Ideas for Your Site

Positioning
Your users will want an email address @YourDomain.com, so make sure they can sign up and log in easily.

Add the login/password box to your home page above the fold so the service is obvious and easily accessible. This encourages new users to sign up, and existing users will bookmark your home page instead of the login page.

Give visitors more places to sign up or log in, by displaying links to "Free Email" throughout your site. Add links to navigation bars, the bottom of each page, and in your site map.

List your free email service in a "What's New" section, so that your users will know you are offering email addresses @YourDomain.com.

Graphics

Graphics, especially animated images that flash quickly, capture the attention of your users.

III. Additional Promotional Ideas

Use the Service
Use your @YourDomain.com email service for all of your email needs. Assign an email account to each person who works with you to advertise your domain, and integrate your Web mail system with your POP mail system by forwarding your web-based accounts to your local POP mail server.

Banners
Use banners to advertise your email offering. Design a series of banners that publicize your free email @YourDomain.com and promote the benefits of the service. Buy or exchange ad space to get the message out and also run them on your own site.

Emails
Send emails to announce your new service to your current customers and regular visitors. Build your own opt-in email list of new customers who have asked to be contacted via email. Also, decide who your ideal site visitor is, and buy an opt-in list for that target audience.

Newsletters
Newsletters are a proven way to drive traffic to your site. Create a newsletter in-house, and send it to your customers, tradeshow leads, or prospects. Focus each newsletter on your site, product, market, or service, and advertise the benefits of your web-based email offering. Buy a section in a 3rd party opt-in newsletter that is sent to your target audience.

Pop-Up Windows
Use pop-ups to promote your new service. In your creative, describe your free email service and list several of the features and benefits. For ideas, see Highlight Features and Benefits. Enable visitors to sign up via the pop-up window—you've got their interest, so make it easy for them to sign up!

Contests
Increase email signups with contests. Offer a free product, voucher, or discount to each person who signs up for email and if you don't have anything to give away, partner with a site that does. Create contests that incentivize your users to check their email more frequently. Time sensitive contests that are announced via email will give users a reason check their email more often.

Public Relations
Use press releases to cost-effectively announce your latest news, such as your new email service. Write a release that your site now offers unlimited free email @YourDomain.com and use Business Wire or a similar service to cost effectively get your message out. Add a sentence about your free email service to your boilerplate, the standard description of your site or firm, which should be included at the end of each press release. And each time you do a release, write about all the exciting things to do at your site, including free email.

Newsgroups
Visit newsgroups in your industry and participate frequently. Advertise each time you post to a newsgroup by using your @YourDomain.com email. Don't forget to include a link to your home page just below your signature. When posting to a newsgroup, attach a tagline with your site URL below your name and remember, the more newsgroups you participate in, the more people will find out about your email service.

Offline Promotional Methods
Don't forget to promote your site and email service offline, too! Mention your free email service in your brochures, posters, and company literature. Advertise your free email on your corporate merchandise, such as pens, t-shirts, mugs, or trade show gifts, by printing, for example, "Get Free Email @YourDomain.com." Use paid sponsorships, print advertising, television commercials, and radio ads to promote your email service. Order double sided business cards and use the backside to announce your free email service!
